The city declared a flooding emergency and warned residents to stay off the roads due to landslides and washed-out roads. The Haines Highway was closed, and the city's airport was partially flooded. The local ferry terminal and barge dock were also blocked by a landslide, separating the city's emergency diesel generator from its biggest fuel tanks. The damage is expected to take weeks or months to fully repair.
