Juneau, Alaska has been hit by an atmospheric river, bringing record rain and swollen rivers. The Eaglecrest ski area closed due to five inches of rain at the base of the mountain, and the avalanche hazard around Juneau is high. Colder temperatures and drier conditions are expected to bring the hazard levels down, but the city is recommending that residents continue to avoid certain areas. Rain is expected to continue for the next seven days.
