Celine van Breukelen, Senior Service Hydrologist with the National Weather Service
Description:
Alaska is the land of extremes - and hydrology is no exception. This water year, much of the state had drought - so much so that we had a very active fire weather season as well water shortages; but we also had so much rain that the Corps of Engineers had to operate the Chena Flood Control Project - which hasn't been operated since 2016. This presentation will describe water observations and trends over the past year as well as a climatological forecast for the coming winter.
