Cell phone video was taken by one resident, and the fox appears to be an Arctic fox, which is not known in this region.

A number of Galena residents saw a white fox in Galena on or around November 4. Cell phone video was taken by one resident, and the fox appears to be an Arctic fox, which is not known in this region. I spoke to an elder who said his grandmother trapped an Arctic fox in Ruby once, probably in the early 1980s. She had a trapline on the ridge that runs away from the river from around the graveyard.

Thanks Karin of the post. It is rare for us to even receive posts about Arctic fox in LEO Network, and this is the first we have seen about unusual range. We have received posts however, about range change in red fox, moving into Arctic regions.
