Unusually Warm Halloween

Kids are wearing shorts while out trick-or-treating. I always had to layer our kids in warm clothes.

Overall, temperatures in Anchorage during 2019 were higher than normal. As of October 31st, 2019, the average annual temperature was 41 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 7.5 degrees Fahrenheit above the 1980-2010 average of 33.5 degrees Fahrenheit. In previous years, there have been warmer annual temperatures for Anchorage, but as seen on the figure below, the majority of years between 1997 and 2019 have been below the annual average temperature. Recorded daily temperatures for October 31st were also above the average high temperature for that day. Erica Lujan
