Unusual bee swarming behavior observed in East Burke, Vermont, with 50 to 100 hives affected by extreme temperature fluctuations.
Due to extreme changes/ swings in temperatures a significant amount of local bee hives have swarmed. The queen bees gets signal to leave the hives and head for a new location. Usually it is one or two a more rare occurrence, but this year beekeepers are reporting 50 to 100% of their hives swarming.
