Debris Flow Event

Debris flow events occur on the Cheekye River periodically throughout time and are caused by periods of intense rainfall, snowmelt, or volcanic/seismic activity. Given the downstream risk to communities and the construction of a debris flow barrier on the river to reduce downstream risk, observations of the frequency of these events are important.
