Observation: This is a time lapse video of the shoreline along Six Mile Lake in Nondalton Alaska. The video includes one image taken per day at 2:00 PM with a time-lapse camera set up by the LEO Network. This is part of the Community Camera Project. Local LEOs managing the camera are Ron Loftfield and Charlotte Balluta. The video shows the consistent high water that occurred in August and September in Six Mile Lake. Usually, the water will gradually drop in the fall and it should be way down by September. This year it has remained high because of all the rain. Another important observation is snowfall. The first snow on the mountains arrived about October 1st. But then it was gone a day later. We should have first snow in October and then it should stay. Usually, we have tons of snow in Nondalton by Halloween. This year we had none. Freeze up of the lake has also been delayed. We should have freeze up by early November. There is still no ice.
