Wolf attacks woman's dog outside of her home in Dawson City, Yukon

In Dawson City, Yukon, a woman named Catherine Lalonde had a tragic encounter with a wolf that resulted in the death of her dog, Dog-Dog. Lalonde heard a commotion outside her home and discovered her dog being dragged into the forest by a wolf. She attempted to scare off the wolf by hitting hockey sticks together and yelling, eventually causing the wolf to release her dog. However, her dog was severely injured and bit Lalonde when she brought him inside. Concerned for her children's safety, Lalonde put her dog back outside and went to the hospital for stitches. When she returned home, she found evidence of another attack and contacted conservation officers, who confirmed the presence of wolves in the area. Conservation officers are monitoring the situation and advising residents to be vigilant and report any wolf sightings or unusual wildlife behavior. Lalonde remembers her dog fondly and mourns his loss.
