Still No Snow or Yukon River Ice

As of late November 2012, Fort Yukon, Alaska is experiencing an unusual lack of snow and open water on the Yukon River. This is causing difficulties for snow machine travel and making it impossible to travel through the woods due to rough terrain.

Observation: It is late November, very cold, almost no snow and still there is open water on the Yukon River. This is unusual. Snow cover is very important for snow machine travel and no one can go through the woods because it is too rough. Rocky James
