Pemberton

An out-of-control wildfire south of Pemberton, B.C., triggered an evacuation order for One Mile Lake Park as crews worked to contain the fast-growing blaze. The fire was one of several new wildfires in British Columbia amid hot, dry, and lightning-prone conditions.

A glacial lake at the edge of Place Glacier burst, sending debris and floodwaters into Place Creek and nearby waterways northeast of Pemberton, British Columbia. An evacuation order remained in place as officials warned of hazardous flooding, erosion, and unstable stream banks.

Residents remain on edge after being on evacuation alert for one week. They are waiting for a glacial lake to burst at any moment
