Milton grew quickly into a Category 5 storm Monday morning and is forecast to make landfall in Florida midweek.

Although it is not in Alaska, Hurricane Milton will be catastrophic with its damages. Parts of Florida assumed to be in the path of the hurricane have had evacuation alerts sent out. The Florida governor has said that most of Florida should evacuate, and some are under mandatory evacuation. The roads leaving Florida are full of families trying to flee hoping to find refuge. However, not everyone can or has chosen to leave, and will try to wait it out.
