Severe rain and large hail hit southwestern Manitoba, prompting a state of emergency and flooding concerns in several communities. Farmers and residents reported widespread damage to crops, property, and local roads.

A Swedish Forest Agency analysis finds that forestry operations and forest roads exacerbated damage to railways and roads during the extreme rains in Västernorrland in September 2025, contributing to washouts, two freight train derailments, and one death.

Calgarians are picking up the pieces after a massive storm brought tennis ball-sized hail and flooding to the city Saturday night. A number of community residential roads have also been impacted. Cars left abandoned on major roadways will be towed throughout the day.

A severe and sudden snow storm caused traffic jams and road accidents. From Nov. 11 to Nov. 13 alone, more than 230 crashes occurred on the roads of Nur-Sultan, according to the city’s police department. Five people were injured in the accidents.

"Hail more than a meter high, and then we wonder if climate change exists," said Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, the governor of Jalisco state. The Mexican army is helping to dig out the city.
