Anchorage, Alaska was enveloped in a blanket of fog, according to an alert from the National Weather Service. The fog was expected to cause visibility to reach one-quarter mile or less, leading to difficult driving conditions. The possibility of freezing fog could also lead to slick roads and the formation of black ice. The weather service advised drivers to slow down, use headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of them.
