A "wall of ice" from an ice jam on the Susitna River in Alaska slammed into Alaska Railroad tracks, pushing them 25 feet off course. The railroad is working to fix the tracks before the tourist season starts on Wednesday. The flooding and overflow caused by the ice jam shut down train service north of Talkeetna on Saturday, with the southbound run of the Aurora passenger train and freight trains in both directions cancelled. The repair costs are expected to be high, but the railroad said the tracks are in good shape and can be moved back into place.
