Eco disaster at Kamchatka peninsula with mass death of sea animals at precious Pacific beach

An ecological disaster has occurred at Khalaktyrsky Beach in the Kamchatka peninsula, with hundreds of dead sea animals littering the once-pristine black volcanic sand. Local surfers raised the alarm three weeks ago after experiencing burning eyes, headaches, fevers, and throat aches. The water now has a strong toxic smell and a yellow tinge. Checks by the regional Ministry of Natural Resources showed a spike in levels of phenols and oil products. The cause of the contamination is under investigation, with two possible explanations being recent military training or leakage of oil products and phenol from passing ships. Greenpeace has called for immediate action to contain, clean, and prevent further pollution.
