Warmest ever July in Reykjavík

July 2019 was the warmest ever recorded in Reykjavik, with an average temperature of 13.4°C, 1.4°C above the ten-year average and 2.9°C above the 1961-1990 average. The number of sunshine hours in July was 194.6, 100 hours more than the previous year. The highest average temperature of the month was 13.5°C in Ingvellir, Hjararland, and Árnes, while the single highest temperature was 26.9°C in Hjararland. Most parts of the country had average precipitation levels, but Dalatangi in Seydisfjordur had the second-highest ever amount of July precipitation recorded in Iceland.
