The text describes unseasonably warm and rainy weather in Pitka's Point, Alaska in November 2014. The author notes that this is not the first time this has happened and that climate change is making the temperature warmer in November, which is a concern for hunters and travelers in the area.
Observation: In mid October it started snowing. It snow up to 2 1/2 inches long, then it started getting warm and it rain on and off for about 2 weeks in the Pitka's Point. This is not the first time it happened! This kind of weather condition happened a long time ago and last year, but this year is worse than last year. This climate change is making the temperature level warm like spring in November. This is a big issue because hunters like to travel and trap. They also hunt for certain animals us natives eat and other people like to travel from village to village just to visit relatives and attend activities. Vera Tinker
