Floods In South Asia Have Killed More Than 1,000 People This Summer

Floods across South Asia have killed over 1,000 people, according to official tallies. The floods have affected Nepal, Bangladesh and India, with millions of people displaced or stranded. The monsoon season is not yet over, and a new round of flooding has hit Mumbai. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has reported that over 700,000 homes have been destroyed, and the World Food Program has warned of long-term food insecurity due to ruined farmland.
