A second major wind storm hit Anchorage, Alaska, with gusts as high as 120 mph reported on higher elevations. Chugach Electric reported that up to 6,000 customers were without power at the height of the storm, with fewer than two dozen remaining in the dark. Fallen trees were the cause of the outages, although not as many as the stronger storm earlier this month that downed hundreds of trees across the city. The storm brought far fewer calls to Anchorage police than the last one, with just a few reports of downed trees and two flooded intersections. The storm was expected to shift to the east and diminish later on Sunday, with more rain expected early in the week.
