After two-week delay, sled dog racing season kicks off on the Kuskokwim

The sled dog racing season in Kuskokwim, Alaska kicked off after a two-week delay. Sixteen teams finished the race, with Maurice Andrews from Bethel taking first place and winning $20,000. The first 15 finishers received a payout. The race results were listed in order of finish, with the top five being Andrews, Greg Larson from Napaskiak, Mike Williams Jr. from Akiak, Solomon Olick from Kwethluk, and Joe Demantle from Tuluksak.
