Moscow has set a 60-year precipitation record, with heavy snowfalls over the weekend turning into rain on Sunday and lasting well into Monday morning. The city was blanketed in a layer of slush and ice, and similar record levels of precipitation have been seen across much of central and western Russia. Photos show Muscovites walking through a blizzard, heavy snow in downtown Moscow, and the clearing of tram lines after heavy snowfall. The heavy rain meant much of the snow had melted by Monday morning.
