Winter Storm Buffets Western Alaska While Lack of Sea Ice Continues to be the Norm

hit Western Alaska earlier this month, this winter storm is expected to cause coastal erosion in the region. The National Weather Service is predicting up to a foot of snow in the Nome area, with heavy snowfall expected from Nome north to Pilgrim Springs. The lack of sea ice continues to be a concern in the region.
