Yukon considers ice boom to help form Dawson ice bridge this winter

The Yukon government is considering using an "ice boom" to help form an ice bridge in Dawson this winter. Researchers from the National Research Council Canada have been investigating why the Yukon River did not freeze at the George Black ferry crossing, where the ice bridge is usually built, for the last two winters. The lack of an ice bridge has caused issues for residents of Dawson and West Dawson.
