A snowmobiler named Kekai Dang was killed in an avalanche on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska on Monday afternoon. The Soldotna Public Safety Communications Center received a 911 call reporting the incident, and Troopers based in Seward responded while witnesses on the scene began immediate recovery efforts. Dang was recovered approximately two hours after the avalanche and pronounced dead on the scene. The victim's family has been notified.
