‘Februburied’: Record snowfall stacks up in Sierra Nevada at Truckee Tahoe resorts

Record snowfall has hit the Sierra Nevada region of California, causing chaos for law enforcement, snow removal crews and the California Department of Transportation. The snow has also caused school closures and delays, but has been a boon for local ski resorts, with Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows experiencing its snowiest month ever, with 313 inches of snowfall. Northstar California Resort has also broken its snowfall record for February, with 500 inches of snow this season, and will continue spinning lifts through April 2019. Another storm is expected to hit the region this weekend.
