The ice road from Bethel to Tuluksak in Alaska has been plowed and is currently open for use after heavy snowfall on January 19. However, Mark Leary, who is in charge of maintaining the road, doesn't expect it to stay open for long due to more wind and snow in the forecast. There is still unmarked open water along the route, but it can be avoided by sticking to the plowed trail. Leary advises travelers to carry spare tire kits, shovels, and emergency gear.
