Huge Amounts of Snow Bring Danger of Spring Flooding

Norway is facing a high risk of spring flooding due to the huge amounts of snow in the mountains. The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate has updated its flood analysis, stating that there is a greater likelihood than normal of major floods due to the large amounts of snow at high altitudes. The directorate has warned of potential serious damage caused by floods. The snow has also made it difficult for snowplow operators to clear roads, with some areas experiencing up to eight meters of snow. The authorities have advised people to move valuable items and loose objects away from areas that could be flooded. Insurance companies have also prepared for potential flooding by stocking up on pumps and containers.
