Anchorage's early snow unofficial but pleasing to zoo's polar bears, otters

Anchorage, Alaska saw an early, unofficial first snowfall of the season on Tuesday, with the heaviest snowfall east of the city. While some residents enjoyed the snow, it quickly gave way to wind gusts of up to 40 mph, causing power outages. However, the snow was pleasing to the polar bears and river otters at the Alaska Zoo. The National Weather Service forecasts a chance of snow in Anchorage late Wednesday and snow and rain likely Thursday and Friday.
