Parks and utility crews, along with volunteers, are continuing to clean up after a windstorm and widespread forest blowdown in Whisky Creek, British Columbia. The storm, which occurred on 20 December, knocked out power for up to two weeks in some areas, blocked roads and damaged property. B.C. Parks closed several parks, including MacMillan, Englishman River Falls, Little Qualicum Falls and Hemer parks on the central Island. Severe weather continues to affect area parks and tourism, with seven of nine trails in Pacific Rim National Park still closed due to storm damage. Volunteers have been helping to clear debris along trails.
