Spring migration early this year

Birdlife Finland has reported that migratory birds have been arriving in Finland earlier than usual this year. Whooper swans, geese, slavonian grebes, European golden plovers, Iceland gulls, and golden and sea eagles have all been spotted in various parts of the country. Ornithologists believe the early arrival of these birds is due to the warm southwesterly air currents that have been blowing in Finland.
