Observation: This owl sat outside my cabin for hours. It was very strange. I have never seen owls on the beach before. I knew something was wrong with it. Later when I came back, it was dead. Unusual to see an owl, and then it dying surprised me. Upon inspection I could not find any sign of injury. Christy McClain, with Mike Brubaker

They invariably nest in old hawk, eagle, raven, or squirrel nests, but may occasionally nest in a large natural cavity of a hollow tree or cliff edge."
