Anchorage set a new May 4 daily rainfall record as a wet, cool pattern continued across Southcentral Alaska, with more rain expected through midweek. Forecasters also noted breakup season is beginning in parts of the state, raising the potential for ice-jam flooding if temperatures rise quickly later on.
