Authorities are warning that conditions at the front of Sólheimajökull have become more dangerous because of rapid changes in the glacier margin, unstable ice, and rockfall from nearby slopes. Tour operators have already cancelled trips and visitors are urged to avoid unstable ice and steep areas.
