There were alternatives for Trans Mountain Corporation to digging a trench in the river to lay pipe during the time the salmon were running.
Observation by Tim Takaro:
Salmon numbers are dwindling in our waters. I camped on the river for 5 days and witnessed the impacts on the river. It was shocking treatment of the River, and unfortunately not an isolated incident along the TMX route, just one of the more blatant. The runs are protected by regulation in BC. There were alternatives for Trans Mountain Corporation to digging a trench in the river to lay pipe during the time the salmon were running. Many fish died with eggs in their bellies. This was preventable.
