Scientists with Alaska Veterinary Pathology Services conducted a necropsy on a dead, stranded juvenile female beluga found at McDonald Spit near Seldovia in Kachemak Bay. Samples were sent to multiple labs for disease and toxicology testing amid ongoing concerns for the critically endangered Cook Inlet beluga population.
