Sonar counts at Eagle on the Yukon River recorded only 23,806 Chinook salmon through Aug. 28, 2025, failing to meet the lowered U.S.-Canada escapement target for the second year in a row. Fall chum runs are also far below treaty objectives, keeping subsistence fisheries closed.
