A leptospirosis bacteria outbreak is making sea lions sick along the Oregon Coast, so state officials are warning people and their dogs to stay away from the animals. The outbreak began in September and likely will last into December, said Jim Rice, a researcher at Oregon State University.
An incredibly rare octopus invasion may have been caused by recent storms. Storm Ophelia, quickly followed by Storm Brian caused huge waves and storm surges as gusts of up to 80 mph hit the Welsh coast.
Around 20 bears have surrounded Ryrkaypiy attracted by the walruses that recently appeared at a special protected area. Several hundred frightened walrus fell to their deaths and the polar bears then ate the carcasses.
