The number of wolves in Gävleborg county has gone up and the pressure to introduce licensed hunting is increasing in the region.
A rare bird that has only been sighted twice before in Europe turned up in western Sweden on Sunday, causing great excitement among ornithologists.
Preliminary figures from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences show that there are 69 wolf pack territories in Sweden today, and the number in the southern part of the country has increased.
