The San Ignacio del Huinay Foundation is a private, non-profit institution, inaugurated in December 2001 by the Catholic University of Valparaíso and Enel Generación, at that time Endesa Chile, with the aim of defending and promoting the value of the biogeographic heritage of the locality of Huinay, in the Region of Los Lagos, Chile. This, through a project based on three lines of action that materialize under the concept of sustainable development and these are, • Scientific investigation • Conservation of Biodiversity • Support to the community Huinay Scientific Field Station
