Ittoqqortoormiit

Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland, recorded 16°C on Saturday, about 10°C above the town’s usual July average. DMI said the warmth was caused by a persistent high-pressure system south of Iceland and a low near Labrador drawing mild air up Greenland’s east coast.

A polar bear was shot in Ittoqqortoormiit after being spotted wandering the streets, marking the second such incident in the town within a week.
