Monitoring River Ice Break-Up in Alaska
Description: River Watch is a program of the National Weather Service (NWS) and is based at the Alaska Pacific River Forecast Center (APRFC) in Anchorage. This Project includes observations about unusual river ice conditions, including freeze up, break up and other unusual ice and river conditions.
Observation Tips: Key components for River Watch observations include photos, the location, a description of the river conditions, and any personal notes about why the conditions are significant or unusual.
Location: Alaska.
Since: The project started on March 31, 2016. However, the project includes observations since November 1. 2012.
