No sign of bird flu was found in samples from dead seabirds gathered from the shores of the East Fjords earlier this month, as confirmed by Birgitte Brugger, a specialist vet with MAST (the food and veterinary authority). It is thought likely the birds died of hunger, as most were very thin.
